Rams run amock disorganised T’s

During Mike Ruddock’s tenure as coach of Wales it was rumoured that the players referred to him as bus. Because he wasn’t as good as a coach.

For different reasons we might need to change the title of our Team Manager to ‘Taxi’. He doesn’t offer rides for cash, but he did spend Saturday morning picking up players from far flung ends of the valleys. Just so we could have a starting 15.

A reinforced Rhayader side providing a familiar glimpse from the past as old foe Spike crashed over for an early try. More worryingly for the home side, captain Baz mysteriously decided to tackle the solid centre with his face. The nervous home support watched as he received expert treatment.

T’s responding fairly adeptly, using their two play makers at centre to vary the game. Jacks confidence boosting break down the right was only just snuffed out by a well timed tackle.

But, if Ts missed their chances, the Rams were only too happy to gather theirs. Giant number 8 ‘saffer’ got a well worked try from a set move off the back of the scrum. And Spike brushed through some powder puff tackling to make it a brace.

Rams went into the second half confident of a bonus point win after a defensive mix up led to another try.

Off the kick off T’s endured an embarrassing positioning mix up. The Rhayader no 9 spotted the T’s had three wingers and no full back. The Rhayader runners capitalised from the chaos with an early try.

In the second half, the T’s failed to capitalise on their purple patch. At one point losing a great opportunity from an attacking scrum as Rhayader somehow won the turnover.

T’s finished the game as the started and gave too much respect to the strong Rhayader runners. For the return fixture in mid Wales we might need to instigate a team wide Facebook ban.
